Basic Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat is one of those popular casino games. Asian acceptance of this game is tremendous. Most casinos in Macau hold a baccarat table for big time gamblers. It is an easy game to play just like picking if it's red or black in a roulette game.

Casino has a special playing areas only for baccarat game.. Players numbering from twelve to fourteen dressed in tuxedoes or other formal suits and three casino dealers gather in a playing table the size of a crap table. Bets are placed by each player including the dealer, either on the banker (Banco) or player (Punto) or the seldom used Standoff. The dealer usually places a bet on the banker. Players not wanting to deal may pass the "shoe' to a player next to him.

A player will continue dealing as long as the banker is winning. If Punto wins another player will have the shoe. A player bets which of the two hands dealt will win. Each hand holds 2 or 3 cards. The player dealing will then put two faced down cards and tucked under the shoe. The two other cards face down are given to the player who put the biggest bet. After looking at the cards the player gives back the cards to the card-dealer. Then both hands are turned over to the casino dealer, who then announces who the winner is.

A scenario (unnatural) may arise if the total of either hand is 8 or 9(nine being highest) then the casino dealer may order the card-dealer at any point deal a third card. In "natural" case, dealing of cards stopped. All casinos have the same set of rules regarding when to deal a third card. When will a third card be then dealt?, following are the rules:

1. If neither a player nor the banker card total reach 8 or 9 both a standoff follows.

2. A player hits if his total is five or lower. The player may also stand.

3. The banker hits if his total is five whenever a player stands. Score between player and banker is compared and who gets the higher score is declared the winner.

4. The dealer keeps tract of the 5 % commission .If a player leave the table dealer will get the commission owed by the leaving player.

The hand that gets the highest count after completing all the deals will be declared winner of the game. All losing bets are then collected and afterwards the casino dealer pays all the winners. The card-dealer shall not payout the winners for he is just another player, playing against the banker.
